S.E. Hinton’s retro classic ‘The Outsiders’ has been one of those must-reads since its debut in 1967|has been one of those books everybody need to read at least once in their lives since it was first released}, and even though some eyebrows were raised at the no holds barred content flexing both muscle and tenderness at the same time, we were all moved by the relevance of the tale of Tonyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, Sodapop Curtis, Cherry Valance and the others.

The question is, however, will the musical be able to fill the shoes of the iconic novel?
