Hamilton at Majestic Theatre

Debuting in 2015 and running for almost a decade, Hamilton took Broadway by storm with its fresh approach. Based on Ron Chernow’s biographical book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and rise to power as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. A unique story that is both founded in truth and political, Hamilton is still to this day hailed as revolutionary in its storytelling and has influenced politics, culture, and education.

Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film. He went on to write the music and lyrics for his former Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning spectacle. Miranda is also the creator of music and lyrics in many high profile musical films such as Moana. The hit musical, featuring a diverse cast, is set to a score that mixes new genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and engaging by showcasing these music genres to Broadway. Songs such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the production since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton came from top rap and hip hop artists of USA, he wanted to unite the two different genres together, something that was unheard of! The music of Hamilton are praised heavily by Texas critics alike, as compared to other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton proves to be more fast-paced and lively than others.

Hamilton has garnered a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and 16 Tony nominations, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special mention from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved widespread success as it continues its limited runs all over the world, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is now available this summer in Majestic Theatre, the premier theater for the arts in San Antonio, where previous shows have proved to be successful. Tickets for the Thursday 30th July 2026 show are numerous as Hamilton will only be running for a short time in Majestic Theatre during July.
