Hamilton at Majestic Theatre

Making its first appearance in in 2015 and performing for almost a decade, Hamilton shook Broadway by storm with its revolutionary approach. From Ron Chernow’s book about Alexander Hamilton, we learn the life of Alexander Hamilton’s humble beginnings and rise to power as one of the Founding Fathers of the USA. This is a profound story that is both founded in truth and clever, Hamilton is still to this day lauded as fearless in its storytelling that has left its mark on politics, culture, and education.

Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his achievements in movies, Broadway and more. He went on to create the score and lyrics for his former Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning production, and is also the creator of music and lyrics in popular musical films such as Moana. The hit musical, featuring a diverse cast, has showtunes in a style that combines new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B and more, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and exciting by bringing these genres to Broadway. Showtunes such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the musical since its Broadway debut. Lin-Manuel Miranda has said that his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip hop artists of America, he wanted to unite the two different genres together, something that was unheard of. The score of Hamilton are praised heavily by Texas critics alike, as compared to the other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and engaging than others.

Hamilton has garnered a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Olivier Awards, Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved success all over the world as it continues its worldwide tour, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is coming to you this summer in Majestic Theatre, the best theater for the arts in San Antonio, where previous musicals have proved to be successful. Tickets for the Saturday 8th August 2026 showing are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a limited time in Majestic Theatre during August.
